Jack Thomas, Inc. is a family owned and operated real estate firm with long standing ties to Miami and Miami-Dade County. It was founded in 1962 by the late Jack K. Thomas, and has operated continuously since that time. Today, we maintain offices in Miami, Sanibel Island and Orlando, Florida.

Our traditional areas of expertise are:

• Brokerage of commercial real estate of all types throughout Florida including improved industrial, commercial, office or multi-family residential property, as well as undeveloped commercial property.
• Creation of real estate joint ventures to achieve investment benefits.
• Management of improved real estate properties, including leasing, maintenance, rent collection and reporting.
• Development of real estate. Projects have included land use and zoning changes, securing of development orders, platting and permitting, and rehabilitation of significant older buildings and new construction.
• Representation of Buyers and Sellers of homes throughout Miami-Dade County, especially in Coral Gables, South Miami, Kendall, Miami Beach and Key Biscayne.

Ownership & Management Structure

Jack Thomas, Jr. is the President. Henry R. Block, is a Vice President.

Cathy Thomas Block is a Vice President of the Company and the Residential Division Director. Graciela Casso Pinilla is the Residential Division Manager.

Jack Thomas, Jr., President

A licensed real estate and mortgage broker, Mr. Thomas joined his late father's firm in 1964 and has served as president since 1976. He has been actively involved as a trustee/principal in as many as14 joint ventures which own income properties and land in South Florida and also manages the brokerage activities of the business. An ardent conservationist, Mr. Thomas is past chairman of the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation and has been active as a U.S. Coast Guard licensed fishing guide for 24 years. A resident of Sanibel Island since 1972, Mr. Thomas holds a B.S. degree in business administration from University of Florida.

Henry R. Block, Vice President

As manager of Jack Thomas, Inc.'s Miami operations, Mr. Block has been responsible for administration of more than 100,000 square feet of rental property in Dade and Monroe counties. He also manages investment partnerships with landholding valued at more than $70 million. Mr. Block has participated in the negotiation and sale of vacant land and improved properties all over Miami-Dade County. A professional engineer as well as a licensed real estate broker, Mr. Block has extensive experience in construction management which complements his skills in property management, arrangement of financing and leasing. He has received the 1988 Marjorie Stoneman Douglas Award from the Dade County Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society for leadership on local environmental issues. Mr. Block holds a B.S. degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an M.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Neil Christiansen, Broker-Associate

A licensed real estate broker, Mr. Christiansen has been with the company since 1974, having managed and brokered various commercial types of property over the ensuing years. He is a graduate of the NAR's property management program, and holds a B.A. degree in business administration from Glenville State College.

Monique Chabot Novales, Office Manager/Sales Associate

Monique Novales is our office manager and a licensed real estate associate and has been with our firm since 1973. She is bilingual (French/English), having been born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Ms. Novales has assisted with the management and sale of several commercial properties and regularly assists our residential department in marketing listed properties.

M. Catherine Thomas Block

Cathy Thomas Block shares the responsibility for residential operations with Graciela Pinilla. They both are Broker-Associates.

As a Miami Native, she has a thorough knowledge of the growth and development of Miami due to family background and long time Real Estate interests and investments. She has earned a Bachelors degree in Art Education, from Florida State University, and a Masters Degree from Pennsylvania State University. She has fifteen years commercial and residential Real Estate experience at Jack Thomas, Inc. and ten years experience as a residential Real Estate Associate at Coldwell Banker, Coral Gables.

Ms. Block volunteers at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the Children's Cancer Clinic teaching art and serves on the Board of Directors of the Children Cancer Fund.

Graciela Casso Pinilla

Graciela Pinilla is the Residential Division Manager. She has eleven years experience as a residential real estate professional with Coldwell Banker, Coral Gables and fifteen years with Jack Thomas, Inc.

She is bilingual (Spanish/English), having been born in Mexico and educated in United States. She has a Bachelors Degree in English from University of Dallas.

Ms. Pinilla has traveled extensively in South America, Mexico, Europe, China, Japan, Africa, Russia & Middle East. She is past president of the Young Patronesses of the Opera and is active on the Opera Board Locally and Internationally.
