Beginning his successful real estate career in the 1940s, the late Jack Thomas, Sr. went out on his own to launch Jack Thomas, Inc. in 1963. The original headquarters was located on Biscayne Boulevard. Proud to follow in his father’s footsteps, Jack Thomas, Jr. joined the firm in 1964 and took over as president in 1976. Jack has been actively involved as a trustee/principal in numerous joint ventures which own income properties and land in South Florida.
The company started out as a commercial real estate firm and continues to serve all types of commercial interests, including facilitating investment partnerships that entail real estate holdings, managing commercial real estate, and brokering commercial real estate transactions. The Residential Division was added in 1999 when Cathy Thomas Block came aboard with ten years of residential real estate experience acquired as an associate with Coldwell Banker. Cathy also brought along her partner, Graciela Casso Pinilla, to Jack Thomas, Inc., and they continue to operate as a team in co-managing the Residential Division.
The family’s ties to the business extend to the firm’s vice president, Henry R. Block, who is Cathy’s husband. An engineer and a licensed real estate broker, Henry has a construction management background that delivers tremendous value to clients in numerous areas, including property management.
Other long-time members of the Jack Thomas team include broker-associate Neil Christiansen, who has managed and brokered a wide range of commercial property for the firm since 1974, and Monique Novales, the office manager and sales associate who joined the company in 1973.
Over the years, Jack Thomas, Inc. has cultivated a family atmosphere that focuses on serving the client rather than the transaction. A testament to the firm’s commitment to providing the best opportunities and value is the fact that the majority of clients are either friends or personal referrals. Additionally, as South Florida has grown, so have the far-reaching relationships of Jack Thomas, Inc. They reach well beyond Miami across North America into Canada, Central and South America, and throughout Europe.
